Early Life

Artist Befikadu Haile was born in Nazret Ethiopia, in 1953 G.C. He received his schooling at the Holeta Genet Army Academy, Dire Dawa, and Harar. To fulfill his love of music, he entered the world of music at the Haile Selassie First Military Academy while still in the army. His official profession was playing the saxophone instrument, but he also briefly worked as a singer. The saxophone was his primary instrument and function. Career

Although the struggle he overcame in his life as a musician was tough to articulate,  it wasn’t his dream to only be a musical instrument player. He moved in the hopes of bettering his life and overcoming new obstacles. In the town of Harar, he gave his debut performance. He stated, As music has its own moral code, everyone who aspires to be a musician should have tremendous respect for the field, regardless of whether they are employed. They should also practice often, listen to various rhythms, and follow these moral guidelines.

Music Career

According to the legal authorization he received from Dr. Ali Birra, his first album, Bareeda Uumaa, or, contains 11 (eleven) of his best songs with cool jazz instrumental or saxophone accompaniment. He revised the music’s arrangement, raising its quality, and commissioned the renowned Abegaz Kibrework Shiota to complete the final mastering. As a result, he produced the two songs from his album Bareeda uumaa and Hindin with clips. The instrumental album Bareeda Uumma or “ድንቅ ተፈጥሮ”  has gotten liked by many he got the highest spiritual satisfaction. If he can secure sponsorship, he plans to complete the remaining nine songs; if not, he will do it on his own over the next five years.

He used Getachew Mekuria, Seyoume Gebreyes, and Tilaye Gebre as his local models. Grover Washington Junior and King Curtise, who were both soldiers, served as his international models. Grover Washington Jr. won the Grammy Award, the highest honor in music. The artist’s talent includes creating beautiful songs, melodies, and musical arrangements. For instance, he created his instrumental album by retaining the vocal and instrumental levels at a new level. It has been a while since he made that decision since his life and music has made it easier for him to move on from the difficulties and ups and downs he experienced.

Even though the artist does work hard and does well he isn’t not all about work he has some hobbies he enjoys doing like reading historical fiction and watching documentaries in addition to music.

As for the future he wants to continue making music because he wants to succeed in becoming well-known and popular, because he wants to leave his mark on the history of music, and because he wants to inspire young people who want to follow in his footsteps by showing them how to overcome obstacles in order to succeed and get ready for a career in music.
